Resum

Ten years ago, the Brittish journal Addiction published the article Measuring problema video game playing in adolecents, in which the professors Ricardo Tejeiro Salguero, from the UNED Associated Center in Campo de Gibraltar and Rosa María Bersabé Morán, from the University of Málaga, presented the Problem Video Game Playing Questionnaire (PVP; Tejeiro & Bersabé, 2002). The PVP was developed in a research on 223 secondary Education students from IES Mar de Poniente in La Línea de la Concepción, and IES Severo Ochoa in Granada. With the questionnaire’s design and validation, we aimed at providing a reliable instrument for the objective measurement of the problems associated with the excesive use of video games. Ten years later, we present the results of (a) the application of the PVP in Universities from 9 countries in America, Europe, Asia and Oceania, (b) the validation of the Thai (PVP Thai) and Icelandic (PVP-R) versions of the instrument, and (c) 102 studies and reviews in 24 countries in which the questionnaire or the article are cited.
