Abstract
In the study of the transmission of grammatical ideas throughout history, the review of the references to the different educational treaties, manuals and laws that appeared in the different spaces of public opinion could help us to reconstruct the causes for which certain ideas triumphed in a certain geographical area of Spanish and not others, or what were the political and sociocultural conditions that motivated the penetration of the different gram-mar models. With this work, we have focused on those reviews of manuals and grammars that were published in periodical series throughout the eighteenth century and the first third of the nineteenth century in ancient «Nueva España» and the first years of the independent Mexico, with the aim of analyzing the grammatical ideology that triumphed in the teaching of Spanish and to highlight the sociopolitical conditions that could influence the success of some texts over others.
