Abstract

Through the analysis of the story of Smyrna in Par. min. 22A (Mor. 310F-311A) and its Roman parallel (Par. min. 22B [Mor. 311A-B]), it is possible to observe how metamorphoses are used by pseudo-Plutarch in Parallela minora. The works belonging to the corpus of Moralia are direct recipients of the whole Hellenistic literature. These pages offer a brief approach to the reception of the Hellenistic metamorphosis in one of the stories that forms part of Parallela minora. Thus, the aim of this analysis is to shed some light on the reception process regarding the content as well as the form of the different diegesis.
