Resumen

the objective of the present work is to test a story based on the relationship between the geographic landscape- in a wide sense understanding-and the people who lived in, offering some unknown data as well as some original interpretations and analysis on it. An essay on history applied to the Intendencia Mayor de Guanajuato, Nueva España, before the Grito de Dolores in 1810. We pretend to contribute with new points of view to the, more and more, known evolution of the social-cultural economy and reality in El Bajío novohispano considering that it was the origin of one of the most important landmarks in American History and that it transformed its landscape for ever. A singular place that was considered as the economical jewel of The Crown between the end of the XVIII and the beginning of the XIX centuries. And so, it was not by chance that it become the scenic sorrounding where, first, the fights against Absolutism and them for the Independence took place.
