Abstract

In the present article, we contemplate the legal conflicts that may arise from the use of chatbots in the contratation of legal services, offering the reader solutions built in accordance with our current legislation. Thus, we begin by distinguishing between legal chatbots, based on whether their function is to support the lawyer as a mere tool, or those equipped with generative artificial intelligence, that opérate replacing the lawyer. This classification enables us to analyze the various intricacies surrounding the use of these legal chatbots, with special mention of the DoNotPay case, considered the most advanced legal chatbot in the market. The identified legal conflicts center around issues such as unauthorized practice of law, the issuance of informed consent as a consumer protection measure, the determination of liability, and potential violations of unfair competition regulations.
