Abstract

The aim of this study has been to assess the effect of a series of exercises on thecardiac output in a group of women whose average age was 63 (+/- 4.14). Prior to starting the exer-cises, those women were asked to fill a form about health and to pass a strength test on a treadmillso as to detect any kind of possible pathology which could prevent them from taking part in thestudy. All those chosen women also passed a further strength test on an ergometrie bicycle, duringwhich valuable data were obtained about their cardiac outputas well as others relates to their cyclingtime and watts reached. After six months, the resuits showed a decrease in heart frequency both, at rest and whendoing the exercises. We've also noticed an increase in the index of systolic volumes in both situations. Those women also increased the cycling time and the watts moved during the test.
