Doctor by the Universidad de Cádiz with the thesis Mortalidad y estudio sociosanitario de Vejer de la Frontera (1900-1950) 2017. Supervised by Dr. Ana María Sáinz Otero, Dr. Francisco Herrera Rodríguez.
My academic background includes a Diploma in Nursing (2009), a Master's Degree in Innovation and Research in Health Care (2012), and a Doctorate in Health Sciences (2017), all pursued at the University of Cádiz. I complemented my studies by obtaining specialized postgraduate degrees in Minor Surgery (2009) and Advanced Life Support (2013) from the same institution. Since 2015, I have served as a teacher at the University of Cádiz, initially as a Substitute and Interim Professor, and since June 2023, as an Assistant Professor with a Doctorate in the Department of Nursing and Physiotherapy. Currently, I hold management responsibilities as the Coordinator of the Degree in Nursing, and I am involved in various collegiate management bodies and other collaborations (e.g., Faculty Training and Teaching Innovation Committee, INDESS Research Committee, Working Group for the diagnosis of potential impact, risks, and benefits, as well as proposed principles and lines of action regarding AI at the UCA). In the field of research, my research interests have focused on health and public health history, Primary Health Care, mHealth/eHealth, care for individuals with multiple chronic conditions, and educational research in Nursing. I have published several research articles in high-impact journals (Q1 and Q2). Additionally, I have been a reviewer for over 50 scientific articles in high-impact journals in recent years. Since 2020, I have been an active member of research groups, I am part of the University Institute for Sustainable Social Development (INDESS), and I have officially participated in research projects that are generating significant impact in research and knowledge transfer. As a result of collaborations with other researchers, several intellectual properties have been registered. These include mlCardiApp (2023) and tools for the management and analysis of historical data, such as the Death Cause Converter (2018). My commitment to society extends to scientific dissemination. Since 2019, I have participated as a coordinator, volunteer, or jury member in events such as "Diverciencia," "Researchers' Night," and "Summer Campus: Research Experiences." In terms of teaching, I have implemented over ten teaching innovation activities in the classroom, resulting in several awards, honorable mentions, and commendations for excellence in the official calls for teaching innovation projects at the University of Cádiz. As a result of this work, seven communications have been presented at international conferences on teaching innovation. Since the 2020/2021 academic year, I have coordinated and delivered several teacher training courses for other professors at the University of Cádiz. My teaching responsibilities encompass various subjects within the Degree in Nursing and the Master's Degree in Health Humanization and Ethics, particularly Pharmacology, Family and Community Nursing I and II, and Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in Health. I have supervised a large number of Degree's and Master's Final Projects.
