Doctor por la Universidad de Sevilla con la tesis Teoría de distribuciones aportaciones univariantes y multivariantes al concepto de orden parcial en dispersión 2000. Tesiaren zuzendaria Dr/a. José María Fernández Ponce, Dr/a. Rafael Infante Macías.

I have a degree in Mathematics (1995), specializing in Statistics and Operation Research, and a PhD in Mathematics (2000) –both of them at the University of Seville-. However, my professional experience is developed at the University of Cádiz where I got the following academic positions: Contracted Lecturer (holder of a PhD), Associate Professor and I am currently a Full Professor –all academic positions after the corresponding national accreditations-. The main topic of my research is about Stochastic Orders. It is a field of probability theory and statistics that deals with the comparison of two random phenomena according to some criterion of interest. To sum up, a stochastic order quantifies the concept of one random variable being "bigger, more dispersive, more spread, etc." than another. From the beginning I have contacted the main Spanish and foreign research groups with research lines directly related to Stochastic Orders. Such contacts have allowed me to develop theoretical and applied works in the areas of Reliability, Risk, Theory of Distributions, Dependency, Copula Theory, Finance, Actuarial and Bayesian Robustness. This is how I have published a considerable amount of papers mainly in the top journals of statistics and probability co-authorized with Prof. Moshe Shaked (Arizona), Fabrizio Ruggeri (Italy), Narayanaswamy Balakrishnan (Canada), Jorge Navarro and Félix Belzunce (Murcia), Antonio Di Crescenzo (Italy), all of them having a high international prestige. Without a doubt, it is the best scientific heritage I have.
