Abstract

This thesis addresses the issue of institutional feminism at municipal level, through the case study of the Madrid City Council from 1999 to 2019. Speaking about institutional feminism requires focusing on two elements: firstly, the existence of a structure established by the government capable of promoting policies with feminist objectives and secondly, the opportunities that this structure of equality policies develops to give access to the participation of the women's movement and feminists in the political process.
