Résumé

In September 2015 it is scheduled the appearance of the new version of ISO 9001, currently under review, with the aim of adapt the scope and content to the evolution of business market. One of the issues which has arisen in the first draft published by ISO (International Organization for Standardization) has been to include the aspect of "competence" as the need to apply the knowledge and skills to achieve intented results. In this draft, the standard indicates that organizations shall not only determine the necessary competence of person doing work, but also ensure that these persons are competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, or experience. Presumably, based on the available information, competence assessment will be an element to be treated by the organizations in near future. The interest of this paper is a critical analysis on the various procedures and regulations for the competency evaluation in workstation and competence certification systems in the field of project management.
