Doctor by the Universidad de Cádiz with the thesis Metodología de implantación de los sistemas orientados al cliente crm, soportados por herramientas de gestión empresarial 2013. Supervised by Dr. Andrés Pastor Fernández.
Full Professor of Engineering Projects (720) with over 16 years of experience at the University of Cádiz and the University of Seville. PhD in 2013 from the Doctoral Program in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering degree in 2004, and Industrial Technical Engineering degree in Industrial Electronics in 2001. Senior Technician in Occupational Risk Prevention in all three technical disciplines, and certified as a Level C Project Manager by IPMA. Regarding teaching experience, I have been recognized for three five-year teaching periods and two Docentia-UCA evaluations, both with a mention of excellence. I have taught all the subjects assigned to the Department in the Bachelor's degrees within the Industrial Engineering branch at the Higher School of Engineering, as well as in degrees offered by the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Marine and Environmental Sciences. I have also taught in various Master's and Doctoral programs at the University of Cádiz, accumulating over 2,600 hours of teaching activity. In the field of education, I have 23 publications in educational conferences, am the co-author of 3 books and 5 book chapters, and the co-editor of 2 additional books. I have led 3 teaching innovation projects and participated in a total of 18. I have been a promoter, director, and instructor, with over 2,300 hours of instruction and over 22,000 hours of coordination in university-specific degree programs. Notably, I have organized the Bridging Courses to the Bachelor's Degree in three different specializations (mechanical, electrical, and electronic), from the 2018/19 academic year to the present. Regarding Research and Knowledge Transfer, I have been awarded two six-year research periods (sexenios) by the CNEAI (National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity) for the periods between 2011 and 2016 and 2017 and 2022. I have participated, and continue to participate, in various research projects. In those funded by the National Research Plan, I have been a member of the research team or working group, and in Knowledge Transfer projects, I have primarily been the principal investigator. I would like to highlight my coordination of the AUIP Ibero-American Research Network on Mentoring and Skills Development (RIMEDEC) and my role as Principal Investigator of the UCA node in the Ibero-American Research Network for the Development of Sustainable Energy Management System Models (RIMSGES). My work has focused on four areas: Sustainability, efficiency and improvement of living environments, Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Safety and Occupational Risk Prevention, and Project Management. I have co-supervised two doctoral theses (2016 and 2017), both of which received the highest distinction, Summa Cum Laude. I am currently co-supervising two more theses, one in Occupational Risk Prevention and another on the application of AI in vehicle traffic management (currently in the defense phase). Regarding research, I have 35 indexed scientific publications (20 highly relevant and 18 relevant), 67 presentations at scientific conferences, contributions to 12 scientific book chapters, and I am a co-editor of one book. I am also responsible for the Project Management and Engineering Editorial Collection, a joint publication of the University of Cádiz Press and the Spanish Association of Project Management and Engineering (AEIPRO), which has received the CEA-APQ Seal from ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation). In the area of university administration, since 2019 I have been the Director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design at the University of Cádiz, with responsibility for seven areas of knowledge and more than 60 faculty members. I participate in governing bodies and in degree and quality committees.
