Análisis retrospectivo de la actividad portuaria en el puerto de la bahía de Algeciraspresiones e impactos

Abstract

In this work, a retrospective analysis of the activity in the Port of Algeciras Bay is carried out by means of the annual evaluation and subsequent integration of 8 activity indicators between 1962 and 2021. The indicators selected are linked to those logistic, management and maintenance activities which exert pressure on the quality of the port waters. The valuation system designed and the database generated allows the retrospective analysis of port activity for any of the 28 port authorities of the Spanish port system. The application of the methodology developed to the Port of Algeciras Bay has corroborated that the methodological procedure is sensitive to the sustained increase in port activity over the last 60 years, as well as to the detection of the most significant events which have occurred both on a local scale (changes in the uses and configuration of the port) and on a global scale (economic and health crises).
