Resumen

The phenomenon of the NGO-ization of society has been an object of study since the rise and expansion of neoliberalism. It is a process characterized by the fragmentation of organized solidarity, which restricts its capacity for having a political impact and for transforming society at an institutional and macrosocial level. The NGO-ization of society and communication has new features in the twenty-first century. This is due, among other things, to (1) an increase in private funding, which obviously has practical consequences for the communication of these organizations and (2) to the momentum of the digital age, in which new communication tools and possibilities coexist alongside old reductionisms.
