Mª Isabel Morales Sánchez is a Lecturer of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the University of Cádiz, where she received her PhD in Hispanic Philology in 1999. Her research focuses on the theory and practice of literary reading and writing, with a special emphasis on the rhetoric established in the digital contexts, reading habits and electronic literature. Besides, she is also interested in narrative theory, landscape and literature, and women’s writing. She has devoted her research to highlight the value of literature and to contribute to its theoretical and practical study by attending to all the agents involved in the literary event, as well as to delve into the digital skills as essential elements of today’s literary discourse. She is the director of the research group LECRIRED (HUM-530: “Literary Aspects of Literary Theory. Networked reading and writing) since 2013, of which her three current supervised PhD students are members, as well as other experts, and the Secretary of the Institute for Research in Hispanic World Studies (IN-EMHis). She has also been the representative of Universidad de Cádiz in the International Network of Reading Universities (RIUL) from 2013 to 2021.
