Doctor by the Universidad de Cádiz with the thesis Espacios de convergencia asociados a series en espacios de Banach 1996. Supervised by Dr. Francisco Benítez Trujillo.

Professor of Applied Mathematics. His research activity focuses mainly on Functional Analysis, mostly in the filed of series and summability in normed spaces. A second field of research focuses on the mathematical foundations from the perspective of the history of Mathematical Analysis. Another scope of work is the transference of the knowledge generated by the research to the industry and business network. He has extensive experience in university management at the University of Cádiz as academic manager, where among other responsibilities he has been Head of of Mathematics Departament between 2004 and 2011, Managing director of University and Business between 2011 and 2015 and Vice-Rector for Transference and Technological Innovation between 2015 and 2019.
