Doctor by the Universidad de Cádiz with the thesis Formaciones sociales tribales en la región histórica del Estrecho de Gibraltar (VI-IV milenio A.N.E.) los ejemplos de la Cueva de Benzú (Ceuta) y el asentamiento de Campo de Hockey (San Fernando, Cádiz) 2010. Supervised by Dr. José Ramos Muñoz.

Currently, I am employed as associate Professor at Universidad de Cádiz, with 8-year teaching experience, and an accreditation for full lectureship. I obtained by doctorate at the Universidad de Cádiz in 2010, under the supervision of Professor Catedrático José Ramos Muñoz. I was granted a predoctoral scholarship. Concerning research, I have had great continuity in terms of publications. I have published 48 papers, 20 of which are listed by ISI-PHILADELPHIA (Science, Scientific Reports, Plos One, Journal of Archaeological Science, Antiquity, International Journal of Paleopathology, International Journal of Osteoarchaeology, Palevol, QSR, L´anthropologie y QI), 21 by SJR (SCIMAGO JOURNAL RANK) (Zephyrus, Archaeofauna, Quartär, African Archaeological Review, Arqueología Iberoamericana), 18 by database DICE-CINDOC and 8 by bibliographic repertoires DIALNET and LATINDEX. I have published 2 books and I’ve had editorial responsibilities in another eight. I have authored or co-authored 88 book chapters in a total of 31 books published by prestigious publishing houses. I have presented 30 works at conferences, including 12 international and 17 national conferences. I have given 14 public lectures, 9 of them by invitation. I have granted three research awards, and I supervise five masters’ thesis. I am a member of the steering committee of journal RAMPAS and I have contributed to organise 7 conferences. I direct the collection Monografías Historia y Arte, by Universdad de Cádiz press, which is UNE-endorsed. I have taken part in 24 research projects, both Spanish and international, and I have directed 3 of them. I have made 7 research visits abroad (University of Lisbon, University of Nantes, University of Algarve, University of Tübingen and Abdelmalek Essaadi University). My teaching experience is broad, including theoretical and practical subjects in first, second and third cycle courses. My teaching has been positively evaluated. I have taught 7 subjects in the first and second cycles, and I have taught in two doctoral programmes. In addition, I have taught Aula de Mayores (teaching programmes for senior citizen) and in a bilingual secondary school. I have been invited lecturer to the university’s autumn courses, prepared teaching material, and undertaken numerous courses for the implementation of ICTs and other new technologies. I have participated in 6 masters’ tribunals, 8 BA tribunals and 4 PhD tribunals My academic training is complemented with attendance of 18 archaeology courses or programmes, and by undertaking various archaeological activities in Spain and abroad. Concerning management and administration, I have directed 3 research projects and 13 archaeological fieldwork seasons, as well as codirecting several conferences on prehistory and archaeology.
