Graduated in Pharmacy from the University of Seville (2015-2020). During the last three years of my degree (2017-2020), I was an internal student in the Department of Physiology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, working with the research group led by Dr. Pedro Núñez and Dr. Livia Carrascal. During this time, I learned the electrophysiological patch-clamp technique, which formed the basis of both my Bachelor's Thesis and, later, my Master's Thesis. During these years, I was awarded a Talent Recruitment Scholarship for Undergraduate Studies from the University of Granada (2019), which allowed me to collaborate with the CTS-993 Gene Expression Regulation and Cancer group (PI: Pedro Medina Vico). Additionally, I received a Collaboration Grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (2019/2020), under the supervision of Dr. Livia Carrascal, through which I participated in studying the effects of oxidative stress on pyramidal neurons of the motor cortex. After completing my degree, I pursued the Official Master's Degree in Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of Seville (2020/2021), conducting my Master's Thesis in the same department. I obtained the highest grade (10) and was awarded the Extraordinary Prize for the best academic record in my cohort. That same year, I joined the CTS-562 Neurobiology Unit (PI: Carmen Castro). In 2021, I was awarded an FPU predoctoral contract and am currently in the fourth year of my PhD studies in the Biomolecules Doctoral Program (EDUCA). My doctoral thesis, supervised by Dr. Carmen Castro, focuses on studying a natural diterpene as a treatment for mechanical injuries of the motor cortex. From September to November 2023, I completed a research stay at the Developmental Biology and Cancer Department at University College London, in the group led by Professor Juan Pedro Martínez Barberá, as part of my predoctoral training.
