Technical Engineer in Management Informatics from the University of Cádiz (UCA), Computer Engineer from the University of Seville (US), Master in Software Engineering and Technology from US, and PhD in Engineering and Architecture from UCA. I was employed by the University of Cádiz as a research support technician for two years (2009–2011). Since the 2011/2012 academic year, I have worked as an Interim Substitute Lecturer at the University of Cádiz (UCA), as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor since 2016, and as a Tenured Lecturer since 2021. I have held the position of Associate Professor since 2022. My research interests focus on the application of computing technologies for teaching and learning, as well as on software process improvement. Regarding my scientific output, I have published 21 articles in journals indexed in the ISI JCR (one of which was awarded Best Paper by the journal in 2019), 6 more indexed in SCOPUS SJR, 2 non-indexed articles, and 3 book chapters, in addition to 46 contributions to national and international conferences. Four of these contributions received Best Paper awards. I have participated in 2 competitive European research projects, 5 national projects, 1 regional project, and 2 funded by the University's internal plan. I am a member of the scientific committee of one journal and have served as a reviewer for several journals and conferences. I have completed 6 research stays at national and international institutions. I have co-supervised 3 PhD theses and collaborated in the organization of 8 scientific conferences and workshops. I have been awarded 2 recognized six-year research periods (sexenios) by ANECA. In terms of teaching experience, I have had an annual teaching load of 24 ECTS credits over the years. I have taught 13 different subjects, 8 of which are offered in the final years of the Computer Engineering programs, as well as in the Master's in Computer Engineering, the Master's in Systems and Computing Engineering Research, and the Master's in Cybersecurity at UCA. I have also participated in 2 national-level teaching innovation projects and in numerous projects from UCA’s internal calls. I have supervised a large number of undergraduate and master’s theses. I have published open-access teaching materials on OCW platforms and delivered various seminars and training workshops. I hold a DOCENTIA teaching assessment with a mention of excellence and have been awarded 2 recognized five-year teaching periods (quinquenios). In terms of academic management, since January 2024 I serve as Director of the Secretariat for Data Intelligence and Applications at UCA. Regarding technology transfer and professional activity, I have participated in 10 contracts with companies, serving as the principal investigator in 2 of them. Prior to my academic career, I worked for nearly 4 years in IT consulting firms Sadiel S.A. and Everis Spain S.L. In these companies, I participated in 8 projects for various public administrations, performing tasks in project management, analysis, and web application development.
