Abstract

In the present work, a transesterification of borraje oil in supercritical methanol has been carried out in the absence of catalyst under different reaction conditions of temperature and pressure. As result, the conversion rate of borraje oil to its methyl esters was found to increase in the supercritical state in comparison with the convencional transesterification; also compared with the catalytic processes, purification of products is much simpler and more environmentally friendly.
