Doctor by the Universidad de Cádiz with the thesis Role of interface configuration in diamond-related power devices 2016. Supervised by Dr. Daniel Araújo Gay, Dr. M. Pilar Villar Castro.

José Piñero holds a B.S. in Physics, a Ph.D. in Science (Cum Laude, European Doctorate with a Distinction of Excellence), and an M.S. in Science and Technology from the University of Cádiz (UCA). He has been an active researcher since 2011 and a professor since 2016. Research and Collaboration During his tenure as a member of the TEP-120 research group, he completed several research stays at centers of excellence—such as EPFL and Institut Néel—and collaborated with industry partners like Attolight S.L. Current Roles and Affiliations He is currently a member of the HUM-462 research group and the Institute of Materials (IMEyMAT). His work spans several national projects, focusing on both mathematics education and materials physics.
